Frequently asked questions about Ask Ads

What is Ask Ads and how does it work?

Ask Ads connects to your Yandex Direct and VK Ads accounts via official authorization. You ask a question in the chat, the service requests the data it needs through the API, does the math and replies: numbers, cause, recommendation.

An answer usually takes 10–20 seconds.

How do I connect an ad account?

Connecting takes under a minute. No bank card needed.

  1. Click “Try it free” and sign in to Ask Ads.
  2. Click “Connect” on the platform you need: Yandex Direct or VK Ads.
  3. The platform's own page opens — approve Ask Ads' access to your ad account there.

Ask Ads never sees your login or password: the sign-in happens on Yandex's or VK's side.

What kind of questions can I ask?

Anything about your campaigns, ad groups, ads and keywords. For example:

  • Where did the budget go this week?
  • Why did impressions drop?
  • Which keywords burn money?
  • What CTR is normal for my niche?
  • What is going on with campaign “Search · Moscow”?

If there isn't enough data for an answer, Ask Ads says so and suggests what to clarify instead of guessing.

Is it safe? Can the service change my campaigns?

No, Ask Ads cannot change your campaigns. In practice that means:

  • Read-only access: there is nothing to change bids, budgets or settings with.
  • Account data is used only to answer your question and is never shared with third parties.
  • Access is revoked in your profile in one click: the service stops reading the account and its data is deleted.

How is Ask Ads different from the built-in reports?

Native report builders show the data, but you pick the slice, the period and the metrics yourself and interpret the result yourself.

Ask Ads does that from the wording of your question and explains what the numbers mean. It doesn't replace those tools, it removes the routine around them.

What is Watchdog?

Watchdog checks your accounts once an hour and messages you in Telegram when something goes off:

  • Spend outruns its usual pace.
  • A conversion got pricier than your threshold.
  • Goals stopped coming into the account.

You decide which checks to enable and at what deviation to be notified.
